milliedillmount said: Oh and what are the pros and cons of living in Chatham versus Vista?

Chatham Square is much newer, meaning that the apartments are nicer. Vista Way apartments are older, often in worse shape, and none of them have balconies or porches. (Seems like a small detail, I know, but it’s really nice to be able to just walk out on the balcony when you’re having a phone conversation and don’t want to disturb or be heard by your roommates.)

On the other hand, Chatham (and Patterson) are slightly more isolated than Vista. There are plenty of things within easy walking distance of Vista. For example, there’s a Walgreens literally right across the road. There are also stores and such within walking distance of Chatham, but the distance is greater—about a 10-15 minute walk or so instead of right across the street.

Vista is also usually seen as the party complex of the three, whereas Chatham and Patterson are much more quiet. To a certain extent it’s a stereotype—it’s a complex full of college kids, of course there’s going to be parties no matter where you’re living—but there’s also a lot of truth in it. Everyone I know that’s lived in Vista has said that it is an extremely social place. Of course, this could be a pro OR a con, depending on your preferences.

Edit: Oh, and I forgot to mention, one more upside of living at Vista is the price difference. Vista’s rent is the cheapest, whereas Patterson’s is the most expensive. It’s only a few dollars difference, but it can still add up.
